The content focus will be for grades 2-8, however, any teacher may
attend. Explore Little River Canyon geology, biology and ecology with a National Park Service ranger and JSU Field School staff.
Learn some of the classroom and field trip lessons available from
the park. Touch the fossils, smell the flowers, walk in the forest and glades to see rare species.
Let the layers of the canyon tell you why so many rare species call this place home.
Teachers will experience the canyon, have access to knowledge of plants, animals and fossils of the park. They will be able to take the provided lesson plans to make local geology, ecology and biology easier to teach. By using iNaturalist, teachers
can get projects underway near them, or contribute to real park databases.
Participants will learn to use their phone/tablet/cameras for real science. Register via STIPD
